The federation job was to protect bajor from any future attacks from the cardassians. Then ben is called by the prophets to be the emissary (Spiritual leader) and also finding a rare occurrence a stable wormhole capable of passage through. the wormhole has timeless being who live in side at first they weren't all that thrilled that other beings were attempting to pass through but as ben went prove that he going to be the emissary he negotiate a agreement between them. so they now allow passage. The quickly learn that the wormhole leads to the far reach of the galaxy the gamma quadrant.  As time goes by the dominion emerge from the gamma quadrant and forged an alliance between the cardassians. Now creating a bigger threat. the dominion has a being so lethal and ruthless that even the klingons are afraid of and these beings are called the jemhadar , genetically engineered beings which only purpose is to conquer and destroy. the tension builds between the dominion and the federation / bajorans leading to war a down right invasion from the gamma quadrant. now you are update or close enough now i think its time for you to watch Deep Space Nine for your self and learn all the mysteries and personalities of the crew and all the other things which makes this a awesome show. Experimental Cougar Class vessel. A heavily armed corvette. Primarily to be used as a border patrol ship, the Cougar Class is still being considered by Starfleet Command for mass production. The USS Cougar, after being completed will be sent to the front lines of the Borg War to see how it fares in battle. If the results are promising, then the Cougar Class will replace the larger Steamrunner Class for border patrol. The Cougar Class is a classified design.
