REVIEW OF THE GAME

   Roller Coaster Tycoon is probably the best theme park game ever made. Hasbro has combined reality with fun and produced this wild and wacky game. You are in control of the park which you decide to take over or start from scratch. You must manage finances well and have good designs for rides if you want to succeed with your park and attract guests. So the aim is to manage theme parks and maintain them to a satisfactory level in order to achieve new objectives.

    The objectives or goals that you need to achieve range from getting a certain number of guests by the end of a certain year or by achieving a certain park rating by a certain time. If you complete the goals that are set, you unlock a new park. Altogether there are 20 parks in this game (without add-ons).

    Although Roller Coaster Tycoon sounds easy, it is not as easy as you may think. The game requires you to manage finances well and expand your boundaries in terms of creativity. Finances are a major part of the game and the level of detail is very high. You need to generate enough revenue to pay wages of cleaners, entertainers and security guards as well promote your park through marketing. To make the game more challenging, weather conditions are random as are temperatures. Guests even think for themselves! They are all unique and have different tastes in terms of rides and food. These little aspects of the game make it very  enjoyable to play.

    The graphical aspects of Roller Coaster Tycoon are really good for such an old game as are the sound effects. The most impressive aspect of this game is the game play ...it's absolutely AMAZING.

    Overall, I believe that Roller Coaster Tycoon is an excellent game for those gamers that are in need of a break from first person shooters and I would recommend you play the game to see for yourself how challenging and detailed the game really is.

PLAYABILITY is a rating based on how long the game can be played. eg. The higher the score, the better the game is because it will always be different every time you play it.

ACCURACY TO DETAIL is a rating for how accurate components (characters, clothing, surroundings) are.
