Nunavut

The changing face of the North:

It's the first change to the Canada/US map since Newfoundland entered Confederation 50 years ago. At midnight Thursday, the NorthwestTerritories will divide in two, the result of a massive Inuit land claim that has been more than two decades in the making. Nunavut ( our land),the eastern half of the NWT's will consist of about two million sq.-km of mainly barren tundra, stretching across three time zones comprisinone-fifth of Canada's land mass.
