I can't believe this
brilliant programme has been axed - I was wondering what
had happened to the new series. Ch4 are out of their
minds, totally out of touch with what is popular and what
is not. Friends is the only other decent thing they've
got going.
If they hadn't spent so much money securing Carol
Vorderman and her cronies for the next ten years to
present Countdown, maybe they would have more freedom to
keep the programmes that young people do want to watch.
Ch4 - BRING PARTY OF FIVE BACK PLEASE!!!

I love Party of
Five, i can't believe that channel 4 is dropping it. I
agree with Wendy, why are you wasting your time and money
with stupid shows that nobody watches like Dishes, when
you could put the 5th series of Party of Five on instead.
Why haven't we even got any answers as to why it's been
dropped in the first place? Don't you care about what the
viewers think about this?
They AXED it???????????

I can't believe this
!!! I'm so pissed off with Channel 4 its unbelievable.
This channel sucks!!!
They are ruining Dawsons Creek with all the cutting and
now axeing the other great show on tv. How are UK viewers
going to see it now???
How did u find this out Lil?
FUCK OFF CHANNEL 4 !!!!!!!

You're losing
viewers and you just don't seem to care! Sort it out and
stop axing successful, popular programmes, and cutting
major chunks out of the ones that you do let us watch,
such as Dawson's Creek. Not everyone can afford Sky TV,
and we should be listened to. Just because its
"youth TV" and we're young does not mean that
our opinions are not valid.

Bring back PO5!!!!!
To all you who dislike PO5 and believe the rest of us to
be completely sad.....what on earth are you doing reading
all these messages? I believe it is you who are all very
sad for spending time writing about something you don't
even care about. This is obviously a subject alot of us
are upset about, and you are entitled to your opinions.
But this subject is to protest at PO5 being dropped, so
get out of this page, mind you own business and leave us
alone, thank you.
Could anyone tell me where it has been confirmed that PO5
is not returning?

poor sods like me who can't afford Sky, digital or cable?
Are the lowly terrestrial viewers going to be forced to
watch crap programmes that we never asked for? NO! Series
5 of Party of Five should be screened on C4, as the other
4 series were.

It has been an
absolute eternity since Party of Five has been on and I
am beginning to get very annoyed waiting for it again. I
think it's an excellent show. Admittedly I do think the
females are very nice indeed but I don't watch it just
because of that. I think the whole storyline and acting
is excellent. I wish we had more British shows like this,
Oh my life would be so much better then!
If anyone knows when it will be reappearing please do
email me as I am absolutely starving for another episode!

Hankies at the ready
Steve, if you check out the myriad of other threads
regarding Party of Five you will be shocked, nee stunned
to discover that C4 in their infinite wisdom have decided
to cut it! There we all are hanging on waiting to find
out about Charlie and the baby etc and it is no more.
Unfortunately C4 have cut 90% of the programmes I tune in
for so there is very little left for me to watch. Not
being a gay chap I suppose I not in the correct minority.

Please bring back
Party of Five - its one of TV's top programmes - you only
need to look at the success of previous series here and
in the US. Also, now that several of its stars have
appeared in major movies, ratings are SURE to increase.
So pleeeeeeease by Party of Five, and show it asap.

there is no point
screaming at these people, they're not going to listen.
i've had to compensate not watching po5 with dawson's
creek, which i admit is really good, but no competition
compared to po5. face it, c4, american dramas are much
better than british soaps. and, please, take the 11
o'clock show off the air. it SUCKS! it's not funny at
all. just plain stupid.

As a viewer of T4, I
was disappointed to hear the news that there would be no
more series of Party of Five aired on Channel 4.
When you consider the success of Dawsons Creek this
season (Heat magazine top ten C4 listings rates dawsons
creek at No 7) and the dedicated marketing that the
channel put into its public image, it is easy to see why
Party of Five has not be so successful.
The success of some of the main actors from Party of Five
in the film industry plus increased marketing by C4 could
bring Party of Five into the same league as Dawsons
Creek.
When you consider the rubbish that C4 does purchase from
the US ie California Dreams, Saved By The Bell (NEED I
SAY MORE?!!), surely a higher class adolescent drama
deserves a second chance.
I work with adolescents and it is rare in UK television
that such topics that Party of Five have brought into the
fore have been covered in such depth. Whilst I agree for
the sake of television there is only so much bad luck a
family can have, (and yes it all seems to happen to those
Salingers,) - issues such as teen pregnancy and abortion,
alcoholism, coping with illness and death within the
family, and the realisation of adult responsibilities
have been dealt with in an open and honest way showing
both positive and negative aspects of the day-to-day
realities of life.
Anyone reading this having never seen the show will think
that it is all doom and gloom, but the lighter aspects
balance with those 'heavier' moments. I am myself, a few
years past the adolescent stage but have become addicted
to the show on recommendation from the adolescents I work
with!

Following my
previous more sensible reply to the above question, I now
have to ask: Why oh why did C4 do it? Have they not got
enough brain cells to rub between them? Did they not
anticipate a backlash against them? Well, they are going
to bloody get one. I know where you live and I'll find
you!! hahaha
There is no hiding at Horseferry Road!! Now or ever!!!
PS. I think I've lost it!!!!

I agree with
kristie,
that Po5 isn't just a tv show, i remember during an
interview with the cast that most of their fan-mail were
from fans that suffered losses from their parents,
siblings having cancer, alcoholism etc. Many teen fans
have written to them, especially to Lacey
Chabert(CLaudia)that they had similar problems to Claudia
before and as they watched Po5, it kinda helped them make
a choice. So Party of Five ain't just a tv show, so c'mon
CH4, just buy the bloody rights!

Hi all
My contact at Trouble thinks they are going to run the
show from the beginning. But she's going to double check.
If thats the case, then assuming they buy in seasons 1-5,
and plan to show them straight through, it will take 19
weeks (at 5 episodes a week) to get to season five
(October?, either at least we'll get it.

I definately agree.
Party of five is an excellent show for both sexes and is
relevant to everyone.
Dawson's Creek is average but a poor man's version of
Pof.
Please bring it back - the actors are superb!

Can you imagine my
surprise to find so many other people enjoy Party of
Five. I always felt like I was the only one who ever
watched it, and assumed as it was on early that it was
not popular.
Spaceman if you can take the time to get all the
addresses for us to write too, I will find the time to
write, thank you.
Lets all try and get our favourite program back on
another channel.

PLEEEASE Channel 4,
bring it back! I know you have to show less US stuff but
at least put it on in the middle of the night so we can
tape it - it's mental cruelty to show four series of a
programme and then stop it. By all means don't buy more
US stuff, but at least finish what you've started. Also,
you clearly don't check your forums very well as there
are hundreds of messages asking for PO5 back and just one
response from you - give it back and boost your viewing
figures!
