Pet Grooming |
About 8 years ago, Ruthellen Viall
bought Lots of Love Pet Grooming because the future of the
food service company she worked for was questionable. Plus, it was
something she always wanted to do. And it has paid off well
for Ruthellen. In 1995, Ruthellen left the food service business and began
working full time in her Endicott shop—doing what she loves.
"To take a dog that is a real mess when they come in and turn them around...
It's just a lot of self satisfaction,"
It is a satisfaction she has enjoyed
since the age of eight—when she began grooming and showing Bichon Frise
dogs.
This year, Ruthellen stepped out of the dog show spotlight. She decided to make the, still in transition, relocation her shop a priority. As the exclusive owner & operator Ruthellen decided that focusing on her move up the street was more important. On April 1st, Ruthellen moved Lots of Love to 114 West Main Street from the former Nanticoke Avenue shop.
Was it a move for the better? "Definitely. It's twice the size. It's brighter, cleaner, newer."
And it is all those shop qualities that make the difference for the customer. "This is the premier grooming shop in the area. You won't find another grooming shop like this. There is no government agency to regulate grooming shops, so it is up to the owners to regulate themselves. Most just don't set their standards high enough."
The benefits of bringing your dog or cat to Lots of Love Grooming Salon, are four fold:
1. It's a clean facility.
2. Ruthellen keeps
consistent hours (Tue.-Sat. from 8:30 a.m. until last pick up, which is
usually around 5 or 6 p.m.).
It is run in a professional manner. She doesn't just come in
when she wants.
3. It is one of the
largest as far as customers and grooming shop size goes. Ruthellen has
over 1500 regular, area clients.
4. Ruthellen puts her
time and knowledge into it
Ruthellen's clients are not just
the owners of show dogs. She points out. "A lot of people have this
misconception that I only groom show dogs and that's just not the case.
I do all kinds of dogs." In fact, about 20 times a day
she gives fresh looks to all types of dogs.
I will always do my best to fit
in a grooming emergency but to insure that each pet receives the time necessary
to make it look and feel its best, appointments should be made in advance.
I groom all kinds of pets - cats, bunnies, and guinea pigs are also
more than welcome at Lots of Love, which is just west of the newly constructed
Eckerd on East Main Street, Endicott.
Parking is available in the rear of the building.
