keith was born on October 26, 1967 in New Zealand. His family moved to Australia when he was just a wee little guy. keith said he knew at the tender age of six that he wanted to go to Nashville to be a country artist.
keith's dad, a drummer, bought keith his first instrument--a ukulele, when keith was four years old. keith used to play his ukulele along to the music on the radio.
keith was winning talent shows by the age of eight, after having picked up his first guitar at the age of six. It was evident early on that keith had a great talent and a natural ability in music.
A young acting company, in which he was involved, required keith to sing and dance, as well as memorizing lines. With all this, and at such a young age, it is easy to see why keith is such a fabulous entertainer.
At the age of fourteen, keith had regular gigs with a band. After having bought a Dire Straits album, the guitar playing of Mark Knopfler "struck a chord", so to speak, with keith. It was something he had never heard before. With the magic Keith heard on the album, combined with his own onstage solos, keith's unique country and funk fusion, "funktry" was born. Happy Birthday!
He made trips to Nashville in his early twenties. While looking for songs, keith had the honor of collaborating with such notables as Gary Burr, Trey Bruce, and Dave Loggins
keith decided the time had come to leave Australia and head to Nashville. This was at a time he was having a great deal of success in Australia with #1 singles.
A record deal with Capitol Nashville was just around the corner, prompted by the live shows of The Ranch.
keith was hired by Matt Rollings for an album he was producing. That union between keith and Matt so impressed keith that he asked Matt Rollings to produce his solo record in the States. Matt Rolling, equally inspired and impressed by keith's incredible talent, jumped at the chance. Thank you, Matt, for your knowledge, wisdom, and great insight to give us keith!
keith performs a couple of Glen Campbell songs in his live show, in appreciation and love of the music. Have you heard him do this? He's wonderful.
keith's Collaborations With Other Artists:
keith was thrilled to play guitar on Garth Brooks' Double Live album. keith was so honored, he stated that he knew Garth could have gotten many artists to play on that album.
Steve Wariner played guitar and sang on the track, "Where The Blacktop Ends," after having written it and then offered it to keith.

"Where The Blacktop Ends"
After having heard "Some Days You Gotta Dance," the Dixie Chicks requested keith play on their "Fly" album. Later, Chicks sisters Emily and Martie sang back-up on keith's song "I Wanna Be Your Man (Forever)."
Former Go-Go's members, Jane Wiedlin and Charlotte Caffrey, were brought in by a friend of keith to collaborate on "But For The Grace Of God." None of them knew where to start, it was an awkward situation. Look at the tremendous success of that song. Personally, one of my favorites.
Stewart Copeland did a cover with keith of "Dance On" for a tribute to Hank Marvin. We can look very forward to many more great songs from keith. Personally, I think he'll be around for a long time!
