Draw a Celtic Knot!

My first vision of the Emerald Isle from the airplane window was not that of a dazzling gem shining on the water, but a land obscured by silver fingers of mist.

As the plane broke through the fog, I began to see glimpses of Ireland's famous verdant landscape, dotted with white sheep grazing on the hillside.

Still, the mist swirled, and I gazed down at the green land through a veil of gossamer.

My study of Irish politics has been very much like that plane ride.  Over the past eight years, I've waded through layers of supposition, and pushed past veils of propaganda to come to a better understanding of the political situation in the North of Ireland.

This web site is dedicated to all my friends who've ever asked me, "What's going on over there???"  It is my hope that the photos, stories and links will set you on your way towards understanding the politics and history of Ireland in a way that the nightly news won't.  I've also included a travel site in my "Shopping" sidebar--why not travel to Ireland and see it for yourself?

Thanks for visiting, and be sure to sign my guestbook.
