Who We Are......

The Mid-Missouri FOR is a local chapter of the Fellowship of Reconciliation (FOR), an international, spiritually-based, inter-faith network of people-- pacifists committed to active non-violence as a means of personal, social and political change. This Columbia branch was established in 1961; the international FOR was founded in 1914.

FOR is composed of women and men who recognize the essential unity of all creation and have joined to explore the power of love and truth for resolving human conflict. While vigorous in its opposition to war, the FOR has insisted equally that this effort must be based on a commitment to the achieving of a just and peaceful world community, with full dignity and freedom for every human being.

(Feel free to contact our local chapter for the full international FOR "Statement of Purpose" and to become a member of the larger group).
