Slavers vs. Black Slaves: Most (2/3 - 3/4) slaves were killed, 35-45 million or so. "Robert R. Kuczynski, the world-known authority on migration statistics, estimated that a minimum of 15 million slaves landed alive. Because of the brutal treatment on transport and the conditions of crossing, the total number of people of which the African continent was depleted amounted . . . to several times more.

"Carter G. Woodson [Ph.D., 1875-1950], in 'Negro in Our History,' estimated the total at 50 million, while W. E. B. DuBois, Ph.D., in 'The Negro,' gives the figure of  60 million."—Peter M. Bergman, The Chronological History of the Negro in America [New York: Harper & Row, 1969], p 2. [Legal term: Universal Malice.]

Concern, however inadequately expressed, about the holocaust-level casualties is reported as long ago as 1700.—Samuel Sewall, The Selling of Joseph: A Memorial (Boston: Green and Allen, 1700), p 7.

Schneider, An Eyewitness History of Slavery in America From Colonial Times to the Civil War (New York: Checkmark Books, 2000, 2001), p 38 (citing “the total number of slaving trips to the New World between 1527 and 1866 at 27,233. Almost 12 million slaves were embarked from Africa, and about one and a half million died on the Middle Passage.")

Conquistadores vs. Indians. The American hemisphere at Columbus' time in 1492 had had 150,000,000 natives, “cent cinquante millions d'hommes,” says Dr. Hippolyte A. Depierris, Physiologie Sociale (Paris: Dentu, 1876), p 25. Another source says 100 million, see George Monbiot, Review of Avatar (The Guardian, 11 January 2010), citing Prof. David E. Stannard, American Holocaust: The Conquest of the New World (Oxford Univ. Press, 1992)   (Excerpts).   See also his video lecture “American Holocaust: The Destruction of America's Native Peoples” (Vanderbilt Univ., 30 Oct 2008).

By the 1890's, only about 250,000 Indians survived, says Richard Thornton, American Indian Holocaust and Survival (1987), and David Stannard, American Holocaust (Oxford Univ Press, 1992), p. 146, cited by Richard Maybury, "The Indian Wars" (2006).

“Prior to Columbus’ arrival, some scholars place the population of Haiti/Hispaniola . . . at around 1.5 to 3 million people. By 1496, it was down to 1.1 million, according to a census done by Bartholomew Columbus. By 1516, the indigenous population was 12,000, and according to Las Casas (who were there) by 1542 fewer than 200 natives were alive. By 1555, every single one was dead.”—Thom Hartmann, “Columbus Day - As Rape Rules Africa and American Churches Embrace Violent ‘Christian’ Video Games” (8 October 2007) (“Columbus and later his brother Bartholomew Columbus who he left in charge of the island, simply resorted to wiping out the Taino altogether [i.e., genocide].”) See also

Note also "I implore you to recognize the Church as a lady and in the name of the Pope take the King as lord of this land and obey his mandates. If you do not do it, I tell you that with the help of God I will enter powerfully against you all. I will make war everywhere and every way that I can. I will take your women and children and make them slaves. . . . The deaths and injuries you will receive from here on will be your own fault and not that of his majesty nor of the gentlemen that accompany me."-"The Requirement," read by Spaniards to native tribes they encountered in the New World.

“The tale of the slaughter at Wounded Knee in South Dakota is [an] example too well known to require detailed repeating here, but what is less well known about that massacre is that, a week and a half before it happened, the editor of the South Dakota's Aberdeen Saturday Pioneer—a gentle soul named L. Frank Baum, who later became famous as the author of The Wizard of Oz—urged the wholesale extermination of all America's native peoples:

'The nobility of the Redskin is extinguished, and what few are left are a pack of whining curs who lick the hand that smites them. The Whites, by law of conquest, by justice of civilization, are masters of the American continent, and the best safety of the frontier settlements will be secured by the total annihilation of the few remaining Indians. Why not annihilation? Their glory has fled, their spirit broken, their manhood effaced; better that they should die than live the miserable wretches that they are.'”—Prof. David E. Stannard.

Prof. Robert Jensen, "Why We Shouldn't Celebrate Thanksgiving" (AlterNet, 22 November 2007) (Jensen says: "Thanksgiving Day should be turned into a National Day of Atonement to acknowledge the genocide of America's indigenous peoples.") The Aztecs had refused to let conquistadore Hernán Cortés and his crime gang steal their gold and treasures. Cortes blamed them, the victim, for his slaughtering them. He used bank robber "logic" for why killing a teller or guard!

"'We would recover little if any of the treasure that had been taken from us [them!, meaning, that we wanted to steal], and they [the Indians] would force us to destroy them totally,'" says Irwin R. Blacker, Cortes and the Aztec Conquest (Am Heritage Pub Co, 1965), p 133. The genocidal maniac Cortés had the gall to pretend this "weighed on my soul,'" but not enough for him to stop his genocide! of the Indians, who didn't want to be robbed!

“It is estimated that when [Hernán] Cortés first [1519] set foot on Mexican soil, about 25 million people [Indians] lived there [in Mexico]. By 1600, the population had shrunk to around one million, due to massacres . . . the brutality of Spanish colonial rule and low native resistance to diseases such as smallpox and measles transmitted by the Spanish conquerors. The annihilation was so thorough that today it is difficult to fully picture the [prior reality].”—Dan Hofstadter, “The Aztecs: Blood and Glory,” 35 Smithsonian (#10) 76-85, at 81 (January 2005).

Nazis vs. Jews, Ukrainians, etc.. “The perpetrators of the Holocaust murdered six million Jews, half a million Gypsies, thousands of homosexuals, several million Ukrainians, Russians, Poles, and others, and got away with it—in good part because the very people who were supposed to iinvestigate these crimes were themselves complicit,” says Prof. Michael Parenti, Ph.D., Blackshirts and Reds: Rational Fascism and the Overthrow of Communism (San Francisco: City Lights Books, 1997), p 25.

Israel's Prime Minister Menachem Begin, in his book The Revolt: Story of the Irgun (New York: Schuman, 1951, revised ed., Dell, 1977), p 17, and Chap IV, esp. pp 63-73, and 84, cites the six million death toll as perpetrated by the Nazis. Menachem begin further gives a perspective of what six million killings mean, “more than a third [40%] of all the [16½ million] Jews in the world . . . same [ratio] applied to . . . Great Britain would give a death-roll of some sixteen millions . . . These facts are accepted as platitudinous by many today. Their awful significance is grasped by very few,” p 84.

Imperialism vs. Third World. "U.S. forces or U.S.-supported surrogate forces slaughtered 2,000,000 North Koreans in a three-year war; 3,000,000 Vietnamese; over 500,000 in aerial wars over Laos and Cambodia; over l,500,000 . . . in Angola; over 1,000,000 in Mozambique; over 500,000 in Afghanistan; 500,000 to 1,000,000 in Indonesia; 200,000 in East Timor; 100,000 in Nicaragua (combining the Somoza and Reagan eras); over 100,000 in Guatemala (plus an additional 40,000 disappeared); over 700,000 in Iraq; over 60.000 in El Salvador; 30,000 in the dirty war'' of Argentina (though the government admits to only 9,000); 35,000 in Taiwan, when the Kuomintang military arrived from China; 20,000 in Chile; and many thousands in Haiti, Panama, Grenada, Brazil, South Africa, Western Sahara, Zaire, Turkey, and dozens of other countries. in what amounts to a free-market world holocaust. . . . The 1991 war waged by the Bush administration against Iraq, which claimed an estimated 200,000 victims was followed by U.S.-led United Nations economic sanctions. A study by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, The Children Are Dying (1996), reports that since the end of the war 576,000 Iraqi children have died of starvation and disease and tens of thousands more suffer defects and illnesses due to the five years of sanctions,” Prof. Michael Parenti, Ph.D., Blackshirts and Reds: Rational Fascism and the Overthrow of Communism (San Francisco: City Lights Books, 1997), p 25.

U.S. Civil War. Casualties totaled 1,038,222+. "The men of the North and South had fought 10,455 major and minor engagements and had suffered more than a million casualties. Aside from the dead—360,222 from all causes on the Union side and an estimated 258,000 on the Confederate side—there were the countless thousands who bore the marks of the War. According to the official records, at least 280,000 Union veterans returned home with wounds of varying severity; the Confederate wounded came to somewhat more than half that number. But the records had nothing to say about the hidden casualties of the War: those who came home mentally crippled or so debilitated physically that their health would remain precarious for the rest of their days." The Tobacco Holocaust. The tobacco lobby, after killing 100 million people in the 20th century, intends to kill a billion people this century.

Such large numbers of deaths were “expected,” foreseeable, “natural and probable consequences” of conditions, not “accidental,” and were thus “intentional” and “premeditated.”

The foregoing genocides were traveling west from Europe, via Africa, via America, on west. America then committed additional violence and aggression against, e.g., Mexico, Hawaii, the Phillippines, etc. Great Britain committed genocide against China during the Opium Wars, slaughtering a million Chinese in retaliation against Chinese opposition to Western support of drug pushing, forcing opium into China against Chinese wishes.

One effect of this U.S. British, etc., homicidal mania going westward from Europe via America, and eastward via Britain to India and China, was to encircle and terrorize Japan. Japan saw the genocides, and saw how easily Britain defeated Japan's huge neighbor China to its west, and how America conquered so many nations so fast, on Japan's north and east. Japan could see that it was now being encircled, clearly next on the Britain-U.S. imperialism hit list.

The result was, Japan was forced to change its policy from being an isolationist near unarmed (swords, bows-and-arrows) rural society, up against professional killer nations with navies and vast powerful long range weaponry such as rifles, cannons, artillery, and warships. Japan was forced into becoming industrialized with a modern mechanized military for self-defense against the genocidal Western invaders, the United States, Britain, etc. For background on Western aggression and Japanese self-defense that led to, e.g., "Pearl Harbor," see, e.g., David Bergamini (1928-1983), Japan's Imperial Conspiracy (New York: Morrow, 1971).

Other nations' people know history, including of the vast, repeated, and horrific Western aggressions and genocides. But Americans, for example, are notoriously ignorant, dumbed down, barely aware of current events, much less history, much less, of how past history impacts subsequent and even current events.
