What is feedback?

Feedback means giving information back. When you look in the mirror to see your reflection, you get feedback back from the mirror about how you look. Without a mirror, it's hard to know exactly how you look unless somebody tells you how you look. Getting feedback on your writing is the same sort of thing. Other students in your group will be giving you feedback about your writing that will help you focus on the strengths and weaknesses of your writing. I will also be giving you feedback on your writing once you've improved your essay ,based on the suggestions of your partners..

Feedback Response Form

1. Is there any place in this essay where you think the author should have given more information to the reader about a specific idea? This would be an idea that you as the reader need more information about in order to really understand a point the writer is trying to make. It could also be an idea that you would like to read more details about. If there are any places like this in the essay, point out what they are. Write your suggestions under the author's essay.

2. Is there any place in the essay where you have trouble understanding what exactly the author is trying to say because the wording the author uses is hard to follow because of unclear sentence structure? It's possible that the author made the mistake of translating his language directly into English, and it didn't work. If there are any places like this in the essay, point out what they are. Give the author suggestions about how he might write his ideas more clearly. Write your suggestions under the author's essay.

3. Are there any places in the essay that you believe have any punctuation, vocabulary or grammar errors? Point out what these errors are and give the author advice about how to fix these errors. Write your corrections under the author's essay.
