Ectropion and  Entropion

Ectropion -

Outward turning of the eyelid is called as Ectropion. This allows the tears to flow out of the eye.

Causes -

Chronic inflammation and lid scarring due to burns, skin disease.  

It may occur with aging.

A short surgery to correct the lid position.

Entropion -

Inward turning of the lid margin is called as Entropion.

It leads to lashes irritating the eye and tearing.

Causes -

Chronic inflammation, scarring due to burns or infections in the eye.

A short surgical procedure to correct the lid position.
