From
the East
As the year winds down, I
continue to be amazed that tinie is moving so rapidly. It seems only a
few weeks ago that we had installation of officers. Perhaps the old adage
is true, "as you get older, the clock moves twice as fast".
The annual Past Master's dinner
is scheduled for the lit" at 7 PM. Invitations have been sent out with
the particulars. If you received an invitation and are planning on attending
please don't forget to let me know as soon as possible if you haven't afready
done so. My wife informs me that the menu is complete, so we hope to see
you there.
The last family night of the
year will be held on the last wednesday of the month (29th). As you know
it is a covered dish dinner with the meat furnished by the Lodge. I promise
it will not be ham or turkey, as I'm sure everyone will have had their
fill on Thanksgiving Day. After the meal there will be a presentation by
Mrs. Ellen Nast, who is the Cardio Vascular Nurse Educator of the St. Joseph's
Heart Institute. Duration will be approxiniately 45 minutes. Mrs. Nast
is the wife of our frequent visitor from a Lodge in Illinois, Brother Bob
Nast. Thank you in advance Ellen for your kindness.
Unfortunately, our annual
golf tournament, which was scheduled for October 21st was postponed until
possibly April or May of 2001. For further information please contact W..
Paul Gallo at 96S-4911.
DDGM Don Bell is home recovering
from prostate surgery and is doing well. Our prayers are with you R.W.
Don, we hope to see you up and at them soon.
Our Junior Warden, Brother
Jim Blum will be sitting in the East at the
first stated meeting on the
8th. This is a first for him as it was for the
Senior Warden in October,
50 let's give him the same support we gave
Brother Dale.
Many of you knew Sister Jewell
McBurney, a long time member of Mystic Chapter 110, OES who was called
home by the Lord on October 11th. There was never an OES flinction whereby
Sister Jewell was not in attendance with her smile and personality in full
force. My sincere condolences to her many friends and family for their
loss. Heaven is most certainly a much better place since her arrivaL
Last, but certainly not least,
November 11th is Veterans Day. Please take time out to remember those who
served their country so faithfully, especially those who paid the ultimate
price.
Happy Thanksgiving. May God
Bless each of you.

Tom
