Michael Jones played for Linwood 2nd XV on 3 occasions but was considered "peculiar" by the rest of the squad. He regularly turned at Linwood Sports centre wearing a "blazer and tie" he was also seen refusing a drink after a fierce match (involving Clydesdale 2nd XV and a small dog) This was serious enough, but on the park... He would always accept the refs decision. Even old Andy McDaid who is Considered to be one of the poorest quality referee's (also very 'husky') to have ever graced the Famed Linwood pitches. Michael was told to piss off after he stood, as the picture shows , for the wine team song (Linwood National anthem) He was told by the then Captain Martin McDaid to 'piss off and find somewhere that'll accept your crazy ways!!' Strong words. Apparently it had always been little Michaels dream to play for Linwood. So He made for New Zealand and scraped into their poor quality national side, as "the shirt's a bit like Linwood's 'cept its all black."

Linwood wishes him well and even invites him back as we always need reserves for the seconds...
