SHALYN KAY ADAMS, 32, died Nov. 16, 2002, of heart failure in Willow.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. today at Valley Funeral Home. The Rev. Sid Robertson will officiate.
Mrs. Adams was born May 31, 1970, in Ionia, Mich. She moved to Alaska in 1983, residing in Willow.
Her family wrote: "Shalyn was a wife, mother and homemaker. Her husband remembers her as 'the love of my life, my best friend and sweetheart, wonderful mother and wife. We all miss her smile and laughter and her twinkly eyes. (She was) full of warm embraces and always there to comfort."
Her favorite Uncle Randy said her family loves and misses her, adding may she rest in peace.
Mrs. Adams is survived by her husband, Norm Adams; children, Kristyn Faith Adams, Zachary Jordan Adams, Destiny Rose Blythe, and Larry Blythe III; mother, Stephanie Jennings; father, Jimmy Voorheis; sisters, Corrine Barrette, Jolyn Johnson, Jaclyn Johnson; brother, Jeff Voorheis; grandparents, Kathleen and Robert Royal, and Leonard Guernsey; five uncles, two aunts, and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are with Valley Funeral Home.
WILLOW...DEATH INVESTIGATION...ON 11-16-02 AT ABOUT 0945 HOURS TROOPERS RESPONDED TO A REPORT AT A WILLOW AREA RESIDENCE. INVESTIGATION FOUND THAT SHALYN K. ADAMS, AGE 32 OF WILLOW, WAS FOUND DECEASED AT HER WILLOW AREA RESIDENCE IN THE MORNING AFTER SHE WAS LAST SEEN GOING TO SLEEP THE PREVIOUS NIGHT. EXCESSIVE CONSUMPTION OF PRESCRIPTION MEDICINES IS SUSPECTED IN THE DEATH. AST INVESTIGATION CONTINUES. (REJ1)
