(From the Nash Roots web site:  According to the 1850 Nash County, NC Federal Census, Mourning Davis's parents were Arthur DAvis and Milbry Taylor.  This census indicated that both Arthur and Milbry were born in Virginia, though they married in Nash County, NC on 22 April 1846, according to the Nash Co, NC Marriage Register.  Bondsman was John Taylor.  Arthur was said to have been born about 1790.  Milbry was said to have been born about 1829.  Both were still living on 27 August 1850 when they were enumerated in the 1850 Nash County, NC Federal Census.
