My father, John S. Galla, served in the United States Navy from 1948-1952 and was aboard two ships, both heavy cruisers. The USS Des Moines (CA-134) and the USS Columbus (CA-74). He is currently a member of the USS Columbus Veterans Association and has created many beautiful photographs utilizing scenery and pictures of the ships. Dad's computer enhanced photos were a hit at the Association's annual reunion and are being offered through the association directly. Although my site is centered around the fire service, my Dad's dedication to his family and the association is something that I thought should be recognized and I decided to post some of his pictures here.
