The USCGC Seneca is a 270' Famous Class Medium Endurance Cutter. All the ships of this class are named after former Coast Guard cutters. The primary missions are law enforcement and search & rescue. These cutters carry out medium range patrols and are usually under way from 60-90 days. The Seneca was commissioned in May of 1987, has a crew of 100 and a maximum speed of approximately 18 knots.
