The USCGC Nantucket is a 110 foot patrol boat suited mainly for Search & Rescue and law enforcement. The class was constructed in 3 batches, with various modifications and improvement made with each batch. The Nantucket was constructed with the first batch and was placed into commission in 1987. The Nantucket has a crew of 18, a maximum speed of 30 knots, and although intended for 10-14 day patrols, they have been making patrols for as long as 60 days. The Nantucket is home ported in Roosevelt Roads. The patch depicts the cutter on top of a cuttermans insignia with the sun for a background.
