USCGC Grand Isle (WPB-1338)

The USCGC Grand Isle is a 110 foot patrol boat suited mainly for Search & Rescue and law enforcement. The class was constructed in 3 batches, with various modifications and improvement made with each batch. The Grand Isle was constructed with the last batch and was placed into commission in 1991. The Grand Isle has a crew of 18, a maximum speed of 30 knots, and although intended for 10-14 day patrols, they have been making patrols for as long as 60 days. The Grand Isle is home ported in Gloucester, Mass. The patch depicts the cutter with the Gloucester fishermans monument in the background. The saying on the top of the patch is enscripted on the actual statue.
