USCGC Cleat (WYTL-65615)

The USCGC Cleat is a harbor tug boat and was placed into commission in 1967. Duties of this cutter include general towing, patrol, and light ice breaking. The cutter was re-engined in the mid 1990's and may be decommissioned with in the next few years, but the Coast Guard has not issued any definate plans. The Cleat is 65 feet in lenght, has a crew of 10 and a top speed of 10 knots. Homeport for the Cleat is Philadelphia, PA. The patch shows the cutter with a cutterman's pin above it.
