My Bio

May, 2000

I live with my husband of almost 28 years about 15 miles south of Syracuse, New York, in the mountains.  We have two grown sons, Matthew (in Virginia), and Andrew (in Colorado).  With my boys on their own and far away, I am able to travel more, and it has become a favorite hobby of mine.  Last summer I traveled to England for eight days, and saw our Michael in concert at Castle Howard.   WOW!   I thought I'd died and gone to heaven!   (actually, I still feel that way!)   The concert was wonderful, Michael's  voice was unbelievable, and the man was Gorgeous to the max!!!    As if this were  not enough, I met and spent the day and evening with Sue and Bernie Gellett, two of the loveliest people I've ever known!   We have been great "mates" now for almost a year, and I treasure their friendship!   (You see what can happen because of Michael?)  :)

I am a second grade teacher in a small rural school district, and yes, my students know about Michael!   Kids are never too young for indoctrination!!  (Shameful, I know, but hey, someone has to spread the word!)  Our classroom motto is "If I can believe it, I can achieve it!", so I taught them the chorus to "I Believe I Can Fly", and had them listen to Michael singing it.   :)   They love the song, and if I start to skip it one morning, they immediately remind me that we haven't sung "Michael's song".   (I think I have some young converts here.  They write back and forth to Sue and Bernie, too!  We do have fun!)

Evenings out are spent in Syracuse at the symphony, at Syracuse University sports at the Carrier Dome, or at Broadway touring shows at the Civic Center.   We try to  travel to Toronto or New York City every spring or  summer for shows.  We'll be seeing Bernadette Peters in "Annie Get Your Gun", and Glenn Carter in "Jesus Christ Superstar" in August.  I saw Glenn in London, starring in "Whistle Down the Wind", and he was fabulous!

I enjoy gardening, reading , "surfing the net", and singing.   I love all kinds of music, but am particularly fond of show tunes.   Andrew Lloyd Webber is a favorite composer, and of course, I love anything that Michael sings.  I have been involved in community theatre, and school productions, and I sing in two choirs.   I'm also a bit of a nature freak, and like to hike through the woods near my home, usually singing as I walk!  :)

I will be visiting my son in Denver this July, so I'll miss both the Austin and New York City Ballfests.   I do wish I could go to meet so many Michael fans whom I've "met" through the list.   Hopefully next year....  :)     Have a good time, everyone!    :)
