We got to Chicago more than 7 hours late, so we missed out dinner date with Cyndee Llewellyn, but made plans to see her the next afternoon. On Thursday, we spent the day at one of our favorite places, the Chicago Institute. The first four photos below were taken on the grounds of the institute and the fountain really cracked us up, cause all we could think about was Douglas Sills as Sir Percy deciding to have a statue of himself made into a fountain for the garden of his estate - "with water spitting from my mouth." Well you had to have been there of course, but Douglas - this picture is for you!
Another thing we both love about Chicago is that there is a flower bed, or flower pot or park in every spare inch of ground. We love that! Merrill, my gardener/husband takes pictures of them all. This one is in the middle of the stree! Cyndee Llewellyn and me - Finally!
We always visit with our Ballfest Buddy Amy Strong whenever we get to Chicago. This is Amy and me with Little Mikey! This one is for you Inge - in Indonesia
And what would the trip have been without Douglas Sills! |
