State Fair

The Frake family is going to their state fair. Mrs. Frake (Fay Bainter) is entering her pickles and mincemeat into a cooking contest and Mr. Frake (Charles Winninger) is entering his hog "blue boy" into a contest too. Margie Frake (Jeanne Crain) their daughter is planning on finding a wonderful man at the fair, to replace her beau at home. Wayne Frake (Dick Haymes) is upset because his girl is unable to go to the fair. So the family packs up and goes to the fair after Mr. Frake takes a bet with his friend Miller (Percy Kilbride) for five dollars, that someone will come back from the fair unhappy. At the fair Margie finds a handsome newspaper reporter named Pat (Dana Andrews) and Wayne finds a singer named Emily (Vivian Blain).

 

This is a great movie a must see for any musical lover.

Jeanne Crain does not sing in this movie her voice is dubbed by Louanne Hogan.
