Entertainment Giant comes to the US

GLENDALE, CA - Maxi Media International, a name that has been synonymous with quality live entertainment in Manila will soon be bringing its shows to the US mainland. Since 1994, the production outfit has been importing (to the Philippines) world-class musical legends like the Fifth Dimension, Dionne Warwick, Paul Anka, Burt Bacharach, Michel Legrand and Noel Pointer among others. Maxi-Media has been on the forefront of live entertainment and recently went into musical theatre productions which include two Lea Salonga starrers, Grease and Neil Simon’s They’re Playing Our Song.

In the new millennium, Maxi -Media turned to innovative concepts. It combined the talents of Asia’s songbird, Regine Velasquez and the Queen of Soul, Jaya in a Valentine show billed Independent Women. It produced the first-ever joint concert of the Philippines hottest showbands, Side A and Freestyle in Back2Back which packed the

Araneta Coliseum’s 16,000 capacity. Maxi-Media was also behind the Martin Nievera-Lea Salonga-Lani Misalucha A Song for Peace Christmas Concert and Martin’s 30-night concert series at Onstage in Greenbelt Makati. - all certified box-office hits.

In the year 2003, the company will be reversing its trend. Instead of importing foreign performers to Manila, its sister-company, Maxi- Media USA, will be exporting the very best Filipino musical artists to Guam, Hawaii, the US mainland and Canada.

The entertainment giant’s executive vice-president Ana Co-Puno, blew into town to announce its premiere offering, the first ever back-to-back concert of the RP’s biggest musical stars Martin Nievera and Regine Velasquez.. Although these supe rperformers have had numerous pop concerts in the US, the joint musical extravaganza will be a first and is an event to watch for. Martin and Regine have agreed to do the US-Canadian tour for two months.

"The two most powerful voices in the concert scene will be performing in LA, San Francisco, Atlantic City, Hawaii, Chicago, Seattle and the final show will be in Manila when they return from the tour". Even this is a first says Ms. Puno. Maxi-Media USA , will be operating from this city and will consolidate all its efforts and resources to give Fil-Ams bigger and grander shows.
