Daggy

by: Tater

Daggy, AKA Lynn, started caching about 4 ½ years ago when her and her husband Mark, aka Deermark, went on vacation. Daggy’s first cache find was “Blood Mountain” in Georgia by byoung57, just off the Appalachian Trail on August 5, 2001. It was a rainy, nasty caching trip and Mark wasn’t sure Daggy would ever want to cache again. But, to his surprise she did get back out there and became one heck of a caching machine.

It wasn’t any time before she was consumed with caching fever. Daggy found her 1000th find in Brown County, her 2000th on a mountaintop over looking Laramie, WY, and her 3000th was in Naples, FL. She currently has logged 3422 finds, with the help of her trusty Garmin GPS units. She began caching with an Etrex Legend and now has up graded to a Garmin 60C. She occasionally uses a laptop computer with a mapping program to help navigate around unfamiliar areas.

Daggy has done many great caches, but her favorite has been a series she has completed recently by GeodeHunters and Little Dog Tu named “Search for the Holy Grail.” It is a multi-puzzle cache that provides a challenge for all levels of cachers.

Although Daggy is one of the leading female cachers, there is so much more to her. During the day she is the Facility Manager at Whayne Supply Company, at night when she can’t get away to cache she is a loving wife, mother and grandmother, she even tinkers with web designing too. Before caching, Daggy use to build theater sets for the high school, make crafts and she enjoyed woodworking.  All this has been replaced with caching every chance she gets.

Daggy has accomplished a lot in her years of caching, she helps with planning a lot of events for her fellow cachers to enjoy, she also is one of the founders of InKy, and the Webmaster of our new web site. It shouldn't be long before she will be hitting her 4000th find. She will be on the move trying to get there so I hope you keep a watch out for her, you just might meet her on the trail.
