What do the financial categories consist of?
REVENUE

Commissions:  Commissions earned from merchandise purchased through links on our web page.

Donations: Donations made by the general public, donations in response to requests for assistance with major surgeries, money deposited in our donation jar at adoption events, memorial and honorarium donations, corporate matching contributions.

Investment and Misc. Income:  Interest earned on money in the bank and miscellaneous income.

Fundraisers:  Proceeds from holiday gift wrapping, yard sales, used car and cell phone donations, and any other fundraising projects.

Grants:  Grant money applied for and received, usually restricted to spaying and neutering.

Program Service Fee:  Adoption fees to adopt a pet.

EXPENSES

Administration:  Mandatory federal and state registration and filing fees, postage, advertising, telephone expenses, web hosting.

Community Outreach:  Assistance with cost of spaying and neutering for individuals trapping ferals or for those who cannot afford to have their pets altered.

Fundraising:  Newspaper advertisements of fundraisers and supplies needed to conduct fundraising event.

Pet Care & Supplies:  Dog food, cat food, cat litter, treats and toys, cages and crates, collars and leashes, ID tags, medical supplies, grooming supplies, flea and tick control, heartworm preventative, deworming medication, cleaning products, nutritional supplements...

Veterinary Services:  Veterinary check-ups, treatment of illnesses, medications, surgeries, diagnostic tests, bloodwork, spaying and neutering, vaccinations, specialist consultations, professional grooming, emergency room visits, euthanasia of unadoptable animals due to health or aggression, shelter fees for release of animals.
