SEBASTIAN WAS ADOPTED NOVEMBER 6, 2008!
Sebastian was found as a stray with a collar on. His collar contained an ID tag which stated his name and a phone number. The phone number had been disconnected. There was no way to find Sebastian's home and he sat in the shelter for the three weeks with nobody coming to look for him. Sebastian is now in a foster home.
Somebody obviously took very good care of Sebastian at some point. He knows some commands and listens very well. He has the typical lab exuberance and cannot play enough fetch. Toys and tennis balls are his life! He retrieves toys beautifully and gives them up to be thrown again. But he is not constantly on the go. When it's time to play he is always game but if it is not play time, he settles right down and hangs out. Sebastian was quite filthy when he came out of the shelter and needed a good scrubbing. He was so incredibly cooperative for his bath that we were able to take our time, give him multiple shampoos and a conditioning treatment and restore his coat to it's shiny luster. Not only did he seem to like his bath, he loved having his ears cleaned!<p>
Sebastian appears to be about 2-3 years old and weighs around 45 pounds.
Sebastian is very happy and friendly and is most definitely a people-oriented dog. He is always delighted to meet anyone and everyone. He was a favorite at the shelter. Sebastian does not seem to have experience with other dogs so he would do well as an only dog. Besides, he would LOVE having all of the human attention to himself. Not that he is demanding for attention, but he will definitely take what comes his way. Sebastian is house trained and he crates beautifully. Wherever you put him, he is happy to be there. He loves to go for walks and after briefly showing him what was expected of him, he walked beautifully on a loose leash.
Sebastian is neutered, has gotten his rabies and distemper shots, tested negative for heartworm and has been microchipped.
