Harry's Buckeye Page

The race for the Big Ten conference title got off to a good start for our Buckeyes, who prevailed over the Indiana Hoosiers by a score of 27-14. Coming off the disappointing loss to UCLA, this victory will certainly boost the confidence of the team, particularly the offense. Please click here to read my review of the Indiana game. The Buckeyes now return to the friendly confines of Ohio Stadium for three weeks; it has been nearly a month since the Bucks have played at home. We are running smack into the thick of the Big Ten race; the next two weeks bring title favorite Northwestern and strong contender Wisconsin to town. Every league game is always important and each is likely to be even more important this year, as most experts expect the Big Ten race to be as competitive and up for grabs as it has been for many, many years. As many as five or six different teams, including our Buckeyes, have a legitimate shot at the title in 2001. I would not be surprised if this turned out to be the closest Big Ten title chase in at least the last 25 years, or possibly longer. The parity throughout the league has been apparent the past few years, and all indications are that it is peaking this season. The race to the conference title looks to be more exciting than at any time in memory, and this crown has been pretty hotly contested for the past several years. All things considered, this promises to be an exciting, thrilling season for the Bucks; it may not be for the weak of heart.
