Herbert E. "Herb" Rodd

Click for a larger image...Herbert E. "Herb" Rodd, age 48, of Temperance, passed away at 1:04 a.m. Sunday, August 19, 2001, in his home after a courageous battle with leukemia. He was born March 14, 1953, in Monroe, MI, the son of Herbert L. and Ruth M. (Braun) Rodd. He married Shirley Snyder January 12, 2001, in Lambertville, MI. Herb was a musician for 30 years, most recently employed for Tony Packo Restaurant in Sylvania, OH, for 6 years, retiring due to illness November, 2000. He enjoyed traveling, collecting coins, and music. Every year for the past 30 years, he walked the span of the Mackinac Bridge.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his mother, Ruth Dutcher of Bradenton, FL; son, Vincent Rodd of Temperance; stepson, Christopher (Mary) Holmes of Toledo; daughter, Christine Sue (Joe) Yelverton of Petersburg; stepdaughter, Shannon Marie (Chris) Anteau of Toledo; brothers, Larry (Debbie) Rodd of Bradenton, FL, and Walter Rodd of Monroe, MI, and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Judith; two infant brothers, and his grandparents.

Friends may call Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. Rev. Scott Isham, pastor of Shelton Park Church of God, will officiate. Burial will follow in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
