Author’s note: This story takes place after Victory of the Goauld and It’s Greek to me, Part I.

CHAPTER 1

Alana looks around her. The prisoners are tired and hungry. She comforts the children and reassures them.

“We will be alright Linus. Father will have found a way to rescue us.” Alana whispers to her small brother.

“I miss Mother. They took her away. Where is she?” Linus cuddles up next to Alana and cries.

Alana with tears on her face knows that their mother is now a Goauld and no longer human. She has seen what the Goauld has done with the other prisoners that they have taken away.

“Don’t worry Linus. I won’t let anything happen to you. I won’t let them hurt you. You are safe with me.” Alana takes the small child in her arms and rocks the frightened child to sleep.

Alana hopes and prays for a miracle…

Just as Alana starts to drift off to sleep, she sees a vortex forming. The other prisoners also notice the vortex and move away. Hercules and Iolaus steps through the vortex onto the Goauld ship.

“So far, Herc, the coast is clear. I think it’s a good plan that General Hammond let us plant the tranporter orbs around the Grecian prisoners. Since we speak Ancient Greek, we can easily blend in.” Iolaus sets to work to plant the transporter orbs around the confused prisoners.

The prisoners, filthy and hungry, regard Hercules and Iolaus with distrustful and frightened eyes. Hercules tries to calm their nerves.

“My name is Hercules and this is my friend, Iolaus. We have been sent here by Socrates to rescue you from the Goauld. Please don’t panic. The Goauld has not yet detected us. We will escape together using these transporter orbs.”

Alana spots Hercules and steps forward “The Oracle prophesized that an Olympian would rescue us from the Goauld. Are you the Son of Zeus Hercules?”

“Yes, Alana. I am the Son of Zeus, but I am not a God like I told your father Socrates. I am a half-God, half mortal. I am a man, like your father.” Hercules motions to the Greeks not to kneel to him. “Please, rise, I am just a human being like you. We don’t have much time.” Hercules looks to Iolaus “Iolaus are all the transporter orbs in place?”

“Yes, Herc. All the transporter orbs are operational and ready to be activated.”

“Okay good. I will dial in the code like I did last time and then we will all be transported off this blasted Goauld ship.”

“Hurry up Herc and dial us out of here. I hate Goauld ships.” Iolaus shivers with fear. “Goauld décor makes my skin crawl”

Just as the transporter orbs are activated, Hercules watches in horror as a Goauld guard grabs Iolaus from behind. Hercules and the prisoners are all disappearing through the vortex. Iolaus’ cerulean eyes locks on Hercules. In Iolaus’ eyes, Hercules sees faith, friendship and the message “Bring the Greeks of PS4911 safely back to Earth. I have faith in you, buddy that you will be back to rescue me before I turn into a Goauld.” Hercules disappears as he watches Iolaus being dragged from the group into a nearby corridor.

Samantha stands by the Stargate as she anticipates the arrival of Hercules and Iolaus. She sees Hercules and the prisoners emerge through the Stargate. Samantha is relieved that the mission is a success. She quickly scans the area for Iolaus. She takes one look at Hercules’ stricken face to know that something is wrong.

“What happened to Iolaus? Where is he? Why isn’t he with you?” Samantha asks breathlessly.

“Iolaus and I managed to land on the Goauld ship undetected. Iolaus planted the transporter orbs around the prisoners just like we planned. Just as I was activating the orbs to dial us all home, a Goauld guard grabbed Iolaus from behind. I couldn’t do anything because we were all being transported into the vortex. All I could do was watch as the Goauld took Iolaus away. All this Olympian strength and I couldn’t do anything to rescue Iolaus. I never felt so helpless in  my life. “ Tears of helplessness and rage fall down Hercules’ face.

Alana sees the tears fall down Hercules’ face and her heart melts with compassion that the small blond haired man with the kind blue eyes did not make it back to Earth. She understands the price Hercules has had to pay for her safety. Alana speaks for the prisoners as she says “I want to thank you Hercules for rescueing us from the Goauld. I am so sorry that Iolaus is still on board the Goauld ship. I will pray for his safe return.”

Linus sees the sadness in Hercules azure eyes and he takes Hercules hand “Don’t be sad. The Oracle says that a far away ship from the future will rescue Iolaus. Iolaus will not become Goauld.”

Alana looks at Linus with a surprised look on her face “You can hear the Oracle, Linus?”

“Yes, the moment we were rescued, the Oracle rejoiced and told Father. To thank Hercules, the Oracle wanted to send Hercules a message of hope.” Linus looks into Hercules’ worried eyes and comforts him “Iolaus is going to be alright. Our Oracle is never wrong.”

Hercules gives Linus a big hug and whispers into Linus’ ear “Thank you for your words of encouragement. I will take it to heart.”

Daniel leads the freed prisoners of PS4911 towards the debriefing room. “I have good news. I think we can use these transporter orbs to create a wormhole and send you all back to PS4911. It will take us some time before we can.”

Alana interrupts Daniel “Don’t worry about us. Father knows that we are safe as long as we are no longer aboard the Goauld ship. Concentrate your efforts on finding Iolaus. He and Hercules risked their lives to rescue us. Please don’t let Iolaus become Goauld.”

“Every effort will be made to locate Iolaus. Hercules and the rest of SG-1 is tracking the Goauld ship so that we don’t lose its location. We will do our best to find Iolaus.”

Alana looks into the troubled eyes of Daniel Jackson and she considers herself a good judge of people as she sees trouble. “You don’t think you can rescue Iolaus do you?”

Daniel looks embarrassed that he is such an easy person to read. “We were able to transport you prisoners back to Earth because the Goauld were unaware of our presence, but now the Goauld has more than doubled their defenses and their shields..I’m not saying it’s impossible..I’m just saying it’s makes our mission more difficult.”

Alana looks at Daniel “Make Iolaus your priority. We the people of Grecia, are safe. If we have to, we can make Earth our home. Please tell your people to find a way to get Iolaus back. I’ve seen what the Goauld has done to the other prisoners. Please don’t let the same fate befall Iolaus.”

Daniel’s blue-gray eyes express gratitude to Alana “Don’t worry as we speak, Hercules and the others are trying to find a way to get Iolaus back.”

In the briefing room, the atmosphere is tense. O’Neill takes floor and speaks “General, I don’t think we can rescue Iolaus by ourselves. We are going to need outside help. The Goauld are ANGRY that we took their prisoners away. They are NOT going to give Iolaus up easily. We need to contact the Knox or the Tokar for their help.”

Samantha speaks “I’ve already contacted the Knox and the Tokar and they are on their way. They say they can be here in a few hours.”

Hercules puts his hand through his hair in frustration “A few hours may be too late. I get the feeling Iolaus doesn’t have that much time. Whatever we do, at most Iolaus has less than an hour. I can feel Iolaus’ terror. Iolaus is being prepared for some kind of Goauld ritual..some kind of operation…Hercules thinks..”Iolaus hang on..I will find a way to rescue you..you will not become Dahak again..that I promise you…I just hope the Goauld do not find out who you are, Iolaus..sometimes I think the price you pay for being my friend is too high..”

“Samantha, we have to find Iolaus soon. If the Goauld find out that Iolaus helped me bury their portal here on Earth and helped me defeat them, they will torture Iolaus to death before they make him a Goauld…we must hurry..” Hercules paces the floor nervously. Guilt and worry are drawn over his handsome features.

CHAPTER 2

The Goauld guard drags Iolaus to the operating table. He addresses Aphophus, the Goauld overlord.

“My lord, the Greek prisoners have escaped. I do not know how they escaped. This Greek is the only one left.” The guard drops Iolaus unceremoniously on the floor.

Iolaus is dressed in his “Greek” clothes. Iolaus wears his purple-patched vest and leather pants. Hercules and Iolaus wanted to blend in with the other prisoners so both heroes dressed the way they did in Ancient Greece.

“Greek prisoner, what is your name?” Apophus asks Iolaus in Ancient Greek.

Iolaus’ only response is to keep his eyes down on the floor. He knows that if Apophus discovers his true identity, he might be executed. If Apophus finds out that he helped Hercules bury the portal both on Earth and on PS4911 and helped the Greek prisoners escape, he knows he would suffer a fate worse than being made a Goauld.

“This prisoner looks familiar to me somehow. I just can’t place it. Have we seen him before? Apophus asks his wife, Amanette (Daniel’s wife turned into a Goauld) Apophus has not yet realized that it was Iolaus who acted as the “distraction” aboard Apophus’ ship 4,000 years ago when Hercules and Iolaus boarded the ship dressed as concubines to plant some knockout poison so that the Olympian Gods and the Titans would then knock the Goauld out of Earth space and then bury the portal in the Egyptian desert.

“No Sire, he doesn’t look familiar to me at all. After he has been made into a Goauld, can I play with him? He is so good-looking. I’m sure the other female Goauld will take pleasure with him.” Amanette walks up to Iolaus and touches his face with her hand.

Iolaus is repulsed by her touch. He can’t believe that this is the same woman once married to Daniel. Her glowing orange eyes and masculine gravelly Goauld voice makes Iolaus shudder with disgust and fear. Poor Daniel..his wife might just as well be dead. Hercules, please hurry. I don’t want to be turned into a Goauld.

“Amanette, my sweet, it seems that this Greek is not interested in your advances. Don’t worry..I’ll use my mind extraction tool and when I’m done with him..he’ll have no identity of his own. He will be our slave. Before we make him a Goauld, you can have your way with him.” Apophus gives Amanette a kiss.

Apophus turns to his guard and says “Take the prisoner to the room. I will interrogate him there. First, I want to spend some time with my wife. Amanette, my sweet come this way.” Apophus gives in to his lust as he leads Amanette away from Iolaus.

Iolaus breathes a sigh of relief as he sees the Goauld move away from him. Iolaus finds himself thrown into a dark padded room. The Goauld guard puts Iolaus on an operating table and straps his arms and legs with belts.  The Goauld guard then strips Iolaus of his clothes. Iolaus is left naked, strapped to an operating table in a cold antiseptic room, waiting to be rescued.

Hercules turns to Sam “Iolaus is cold. He’s naked in some kind of operating room. They’re going to make him into a Goauld soon. I can feel the cold metal on Iolaus’ skin. He’s telling me to hurry. He’s very very frightened.”

Daniel runs into the room with good news “The Tokar has told us some good news. They say that there is a ship near the Goauld position. The Tokar say that this ship has the capability to rescue Iolaus. It is not a Tokar or a Knox ship. They tell me it is an Earth ship.”

General Hammond gives a puzzled look “We don’t have any technology that would allow us to travel in space like the Tokar do. That kind of technology is still at least three or four centuries away. What Earth ship?”

Realization dawns on Hercules “The ship from the future! That must be the ship that Linus was talking about! An Earth ship that time travels…Voyager..”

“Captain, we have just been contacted by a species who call themselves the Tokar.” Chakotay says.

“This had better be good. It’s 2:00AM in the morning.” Janeway yawns as she gets out of bed and reaches for her communication badge.

“Captain, Iolaus has been captured by the Goauld. The Tokar say that we have the ability to rescue Iolaus. They’ve even given us the coordinates.” Chakotay continues.

Janeway puts on her uniform and prepares to leave her bedroom when she notices a flash of light. “Captain, it’s me, Q. You must rescue Iolaus. He’s somehow got himself in trouble again.”

“Q, you are an omnipotent being, why don’t you just snap your fingers and get Iolaus out of there?” Janeway snaps impatiently.

“I can’t. If I snap my fingers, or do anything else, the Renegade Q will find out I am here. You must hurry Captain. The Goauld Overlord will soon operate on Iolaus and put one of those disgusting little parasites inside Iolaus and turn him into a Goauld.”

“Renegade Q..he’s the reason we are in the 20th century..is he aware of our presence Q?”

Q scratches his head and puts his finger to the air as if to test the wind “No, he is not aware of our presence. I do know that there is a Q operative on board the Goauld ship posing as “Amanette” and the Q operative has taken Apophus to bed. Iolaus doesn’t have much time. The Q operative can only delay Apophus so long. Once Apophus turns Iolaus into a Goauld, Renegade Q wins. Starfleet is never founded as it’s Iolaus and Hercules who rescues James T.Kirk.”

“No need to remind me of the importance of Iolaus Q. Keep an eye on Iolaus.” Janeway pushes her communication badge.

“Seven of Nine to my ready room NOW!” Janeway walks to her ready room with Q following close behind.

Seven of Nine arrives at the Captain ready room. Her blond hair as usual tied in a bun. Her blue-eyes bespeak of Borg efficiency as she hands over to the Captain the latest news on Iolaus. “Captain, I have the transporters online. The Tokar has sent us the exact coordinates from which to transport Iolaus and the Tokar have sent us the exact shield frequency modulations that the Goauld are using. Torres is working on finding a weakness in the Goauld frequency modulations as we speak.”

Seven of Nine punches her communication badge “Seven of Nine to Torres, are the frequency modulation repairs complete?”

“Torres to Seven of Nine. Ready to beam Iolaus out at any time. Modulations complete.”Torres  responds.

Janeway gives the order to Torres “Torres, beam Iolaus up to sickbay NOW!”

One moment Iolaus is lying on a cold operating table with no clothes on with his legs strapped in a cross-eagle position and the next moment Iolaus feels the sensation that he is being transported somewhere. He feels a beam of light surround his body and he feels his body molecules being rearranged as he starts to feel dizzy and lightheaded. His surrounding change.. The dizziness and vertigo are such that Iolaus has to close his eyes for the world is whirling around him. As the dizziness clears, Iolaus finds himself sitting in another antiseptic-like hospital room stark naked and a doctor prods him with a tricorder.

“Captain, Iolaus has arrived safe and sound in sickbay. My initial examination of him reveals that he is healthy and he has NOT been turned into a Goauld. There are no listening devices implanted in him either.” The holographic doctor walks out of the room leaving a very confused and naked  Iolaus in his sickbay.

Iolaus looks around him. I must be on Voyager. This has got to be the sickbay of the Starship Voyager. They must have beamed me from the Goauld ship. Damn now I just wish I had some clothes. Captain Janeway is probably going to walk in any minute now and see me stark naked. Iolaus starts to blush as he hears the door open and sees a very amazed Janeway staring at him. Iolaus instinctively puts his hands on his groin to protect his privacy.

Janeway walks into sickbay to see Iolaus “Ensign Iolaus, it’s good to see that you are healthy.” Janeway tries hard not to look at Iolaus’ nakedness but thinks Iolaus is damn cute and he looks even cuter when he is embarrassed. Janeway can feel the heat rising in the room as she uncomfortably clears her throat and says “I will have the Doctor get you a spare uniform, Ensign. Then you will be beamed back to Earth. Hercules is probably very worried about you.”

Epilogue: CHAPTER 3

“Samantha, we have to find Iolaus. Iolaus is my best friend. He’s my center..my confidante..my brother. Iolaus and I have this bond. Iolaus never treated me any different even when I was “Hercules” the demigod. You have to understand that back in Greece, I was either revered as an Olympian God or ridiculed. I mean it hasn’t been easy for me to be a demi-God. I didn’t fit in with the Olympians because I was only half-Olympian and I didn’t fit in with the mortals of my time because I was a half-God. Iolaus never made me feel like a freak. He always made me feel like I belonged. He accepted me as I am. When people put me on a pedestal, Iolaus always knew how to put me in my place. Iolaus kept me centered. In a way, he still keeps me centered. He always reminds me of what’s important. He always knows how to put things in perspective when I overreact.”

Samantha has tears in her eyes as she remembers her last conversation with Iolaus  “I love Iolaus. He asked me to marry him. I..” Samantha starts to cry as she puts her head into Hercules’ shoulder for comfort. “I told Iolaus to wait for me, that I was committed to the Stargate project.” Samantha continues to find comfort in Hercules’ shoulder. “Iolaus is lucky to have a friend like you.”

Hercules smiles and his kind blue eyes look into Samantha’s worried gray ones “I’m lucky to have a friend like Iolaus”.

Samantha whispers through her tears “Hercules, I miss him. Hurts so much. I’m so worried about him.”

Hercules looks up at Samantha in alarm “I can’t feel Iolaus anymore. I don’t know where he is. Our link has been broken.”

Samantha’s eyes open in horror “Oh my God..I hope Iolaus is NOT a Goauld!”

Hercules frowns in concentration as he tries to reestablish his telepathic link with Iolaus “No, I don’t think he is a Goauld or I would have felt the change. He’s still Iolaus. I just don’t know where he is or whether or not he is safe.”

“Is he alive?”

“Yes, Sam , he is alive. I know that for sure.” Hercules confirms.

A bright flash of light as both Hercules and Sam are momentarily blinded. When Hercules opens his eyes, he sees Iolaus standing there with a Starfleet uniform on. Hercules stares at Iolaus with his mouth agape and surprise and relief written all over his handsome features. “Iolaus…how did you? You’ve been on Voyager haven’t you? (Hercules looks at Iolaus’ Starfleet uniform).. I mean I lost contact with you..what happened?” Hercules finished. Before Iolaus can answer, both Hercules and Sam rush to Iolaus and give Iolaus a gigantic bear hug. Hercules whispers to Iolaus “Thank the Gods, you are safe” Tears of relief roll down Hercules’ face. Iolaus separates from Hercules just in time to take a breath before Samantha gives Iolaus a long, wet passionate kiss.

It isn’t long before the rest of the SG-1 team is abuzz with the news of Iolaus’ return. All gather in the debriefing room as Iolaus describes his strange odyssey home.

“As you all know, the Goauld grabbed me from behind. Hercules could not rescue me because he was already disappearing through the vortex to rescue the survivors of PS4911..Herc, are they okay?” Hercules rolls his eyes as it was so typical for Iolaus to think of someone else’s safety above his own.

“Alana sends her thanks. The Grecians arrived safely on Earth. They have all been safely returned to their planet using the transporter device. So, Iolaus what happened after that and how did you end up with that Starfleet uniform?” Hercules inquires.

“After you left the Goauld ship, Apophus had me stripped and strapped to an operating table. Apophus wanted to operate on me and put one of those Goauld parasites in me. That’s why they took off my clothes. I was so afraid he would recognize me from Egypt. Luckily for me, his wife, Amanette stepped in.” Iolaus looks nervously at Daniel knowing how Daniel still grieves over the loss of his wife who had been turned into a Goauld.

“Iolaus, did Share, I mean Amanette look well?” Daniel’s blue-gray eyes express worry.

“Well, it turns out that Amanette wasn’t exactly Amanette. She’s was a Q operative. Apophus was intent on using his mind extracting device to find out who I was and all about Stargate and Hercules. I didn’t realize it at the time, but that Q operative saved my life. She led Apophus away by having him get all horny and he had to have some time with her if you get my drift…so Apophus delayed interrogating me to be with his wife..that gave Janeway time to find a way to rescue me.” Iolaus stop to catch his breath.

Hercules continues his end of the bizarre tale “When I rescued the Grecians and we emerged through the Stargate without you, I was so worried about you, Iolaus. I wanted to go back to the Goauld ship to rescue you..then Linus told me that you would be rescued by Voyager..Linus gave me hope. Iolaus, how did Voyager know?”

Iolaus continues his story “There I was strapped and naked on that cold operating table when suddenly I felt myself transported to Voyager’s medical sickbay. I found myself stark naked in front of Voyager’s doctor and Captain Janeway..Herc..I was so embarrassed!”

At this juncture, Hercules laughs. “That conjures up a funny scene. After all these years, you finally get to see Janeway again but you’re busy trying to cover up yourself as best you can…”

“Hey Herc, that’s not funny..anyway Captain Janeway gave me this Starfleet uniform so I’d have something to wear and then she had me transported here. That’s it.” Iolaus looks up to see Hercules still laughing..

“Iolaus, my friend..only you can find yourself in such a mess..I’m just glad you’re alright” Hercules gives Iolaus another brief hug. Iolaus looks embarrassed to be hugged by his big friend in front of SG-1

“Herc, do you mind? There’s company here besides you’re wrinkling up my Starfleet uniform.” Iolaus returns Hercules’ hug with a blush on his face.

“Herc has always been protective of me. He’s such a mother hen.” Iolaus explains.

O’Neill, Hammond, and the others all give Iolaus a shake of the hand and profess their relief at Iolaus’ safe return.

Hammond stands up and says “Thanks to the Tokar, we have Iolaus back. Meeting adjourned.”

“General Hammond sir”

“Yes, Captain Carter, how may I help you?”

“Request for R&R sir.”

“Of course, Captain, you may have your R&R” Hammond gives Iolaus and Captain Carter a knowing look.

“Ensign Iolaus, you may also have R&R. Hercules, you remain here to greet the Tokar when they arrive to explain the “Voyager” situation to them.”

“Dismissed”

Hercules accompanies the General to explain to him about how he and Iolaus first met Captain Janeway while the General explains to Hercules how SG-1 first encountered the Tokar and the Knox.

Iolaus holds Samantha in his arms and says “You know Samantha, having R & R with you is going to be fun!”

Samantha looks into Iolaus’ cerulean blue eyes “Let’s go to your place. NOW!”

Iolaus gives Samantha his trademark smile “I can’t wait! We won’t be sleeping much on our R& R!”
