SAXON'S
PAGE
(Ch. Svenson Thor)
When
we got Saxon he was already seven years old, he had won his Championship with
his former owners, but at our first ever Crufts show in 1987 at seven years of
age he astounded us by winning the Dog C.C. then he went on to win Best of
Breed, under breed specialist Mr. Ron Hughes, we were totally overwhelmed.
He continued to win us C.C.'s for quite a while after that as well, I
think he was showing up to the grand old age of fifteen years.
He was a lovely dog to live with, never a nasty moment with dogs or people.
He was born in 1980, his dam was Torden Thuse and his sire was Ch. Llychlyn
Callan. Saxon died at almost 17 years of age.
This
was taken not long after we got Saxon, it was his first ever holiday with us, at
the back of him is Greta. They were both enjoying a run on Bamburgh beach in
Northumberland.
This
is a photo of Saxon with his Best of Breed trophy from Crufts 1987.
This
is Brian with Saxon at Leeds Championship show, not quite sure of the year but
should have remembered as he is showing him with his foot in plaster!
While on holiday near
Buxton, we visited Matlock Bath, Saxon spotted this fountain and just jumped in!
At least he could cool off.
