Guidelines for  Catalina 22 Fleet 47 Trophy Competitions

There are two perpetual awards presented by Catalina 22 Fleet 47 each year; the Catalina 22 Boat Of The Year and the Mac Naughton Trophy. These are awarded for the purpose of promoting Catalina 22 sailing activities and a spirit of friendly competition within Fleet 47 on Eagle Mountain Lake in Fort Worth, Texas. The perpetual trophies reside at the Fort Worth Boat Club and are presented at their annual awards banquet around mid-November. The winners are selected by the presiding officers of Fleet 47. At the discretion of the fleet officers, “keeper” trophies may also be presented to the winners. Guidelines for competing and selecting the winners of these awards are as follows:

 CATALINA 22 BOAT OF THE YEAR AWARD

This trophy is awarded to the top all-around Catalina 22 boat and sailor/owner contributing to Fleet 47 activities, including:

A.    Participation in Catalina 22 racing, cruising and social activities on Eagle Mountain Lake and on            other area lakes as a Fleet 47 representative.

B.   Most improvement in boat performance and owner’s racing standings.

C.   Support provided at fleet-sponsored meetings, events and regattas.

D.   Promotion of Catalina 22 sailing on Eagle Mountain Lake and developing active participation from new and inactive members.

 MAC NAUGHTON TROPHY

This trophy is awarded on the basis of:

A.   Catalina 22 racing participation and performance.

B.   The number of races and finishing positions accumulated for races on Eagle Mountain Lake, at recognized regattas and sanctioned Catalina 22 races, including Texas State, Regional and National Championships.

C.   Finishing positions can be weighed to reflect the number of boats in a regatta, at the option of the fleet officer.
