Be Encouraged!

Be encouraged today. When David and his men returned from fighting the enemy and discovered their city had been raided in their absence, and their wives and children were taken captive, the men were discouraged. But "David encouraged himself in the Lord." He built his own spirit up by reminding himself of who God is and of all God had done for him and promises to do for those who trust Him. David strengthened his spirit instead of moaning around in the depths of despair. Despair wouldn't have brought his family back, but trusting God for direction proved to do it. Despair won't bring an answer to your need, but reaching out in faith will. Amen.

What are you trusting the Lord for today? How is the condition of your inner man? How is your spirit? Are you strong in the Lord and in the power of His might? Finally, BE STRONG in the Lord, and in the power of His might! (Sounds like a command to me!) Put on the WHOLE armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (He is mean, sneaky, and nasty and he'll come at us through any means to weaken us.) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." (No retreating. No giving up of territory! Remember us? We are asking God for more territory I Chron. 4:9,10. We have to stand and protect what He has given us already if we want Him to give us a bigger entrustment!)

Ephesians 6 is a way to daily strengthen your inner man--strengthen your spirit. We are ambassadors of Jesus Christ. This isn't Sunday school, folks, this is war! A strong spirit is needed to stand against the wiles of the devil. He can't be everywhere at ones, but he does set his "wiles" in place--his schemes. Pray the Holy Spirit reveals to you what "wiles" Satan has set in place in your family and claim them broken and destroyed in the Name of Jesus! This is for all of us: "Having done all, STAND THEREFORE!" "Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might!"
