Would you still believe in God? Would you have the same relationship with Him as you do now? Would your faith fall apart?
Often we put our faith in the wrong things. The list of things at the top of this article are all very helpful to us in our Christian walk, but if our faith is in them instead of in Jesus then we are going wrong somewhere. It is a good idea to take a step back for a minute and to examine where your security is. Where are you putting your faith?
When you come before God on your judgment day, all
God will care about is your relationship with Him. Your Christian
CD's, friends and books (and all the other things) will not count for anything.
In fact His Word says:
"When the day comes many will say to me, "Lord,
Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, drive out demons in your name,
work many miracles in your name?" Then I shall tell them to their
faces: I have never known you; away from me, all evil doers!" From this passage we see that these people did do good things in Jesus
name (for Jesus didn't say that they didn't do them), but even so, the
Lord did not know them.
You may wonder 'how do I actually get to know God'. It is very simple.
How did you ever get to know your best friend. Thats right you spent time
with them and simply enjoyed being with them. Now go and do the same with
Jesus. For He said:
"If you know me, you will know my Father too."
