Many things does the Lord say
for us to do.
Fret Not, Trust in the LORD, and do Good, (and we know we should). In Psalm 37 , verse four, there's more: "Delight yourself also in the LORD; And He shall give you the desires of your heart." How's That for a start ? !!! But do we heed what we read??? Years ago I decided to obey that verse Notice it does not say, "If you want to." So many words in the Bible TELL us what to do. But we do not take it as a command or even a strong suggestion. Instead, we ignore, or question, Anyway, after deciding to Delight myself in the Lord, I had two questions come to mind. I needed to find: HOW to delight myself in the Lord. And what is my deepest heart's desire? And also what does the Lord require? Right now I'll tell you that I first dealt with the second question. I needed to learn THAT lesson. I dealt with it quickly, yet not completely. I said to the Lord, "I want YOUR will in my life." The results of that did not mean no strife. Yet, He set me upon a path to find out HOW To Delight Myself in Him And to recognize my sin. Years passed and last night He revealed to me What I now see That the REAL desire in my heart, IS To Delight myself in Him, And that is His will ! Doesn't THAT strike a wonderful cord of harmony for me? THAT I delight myself in HIM, In Who He is, and What He is. To really get acquainted with HIM. As you would a friend, and to that end I've asked Him: "Tell me. Show me about YOUR interests, increase my capacity And ability to really appreciate You, LORD GOD. He delights in me when I delight myself in Him !!! To delight myself in Him, to Him admire I have found IS my heart's desire. © Lois N. Lee August 5 2000 |
