Annator: the Final Frontier By Torie Hamilton & Anna Harrold | home
Introduction
Five years ago USEP started a project for finding life on another planet. Every other planet was being explored by NASA so we set out to find a new planet. We searched for 60 day before we found the planet Sirius Beta 3 by accident. We then started to run some imaging tests and found that there was signs of water on the planets surface. Then a few days later when we were evaluating the data, radio signals came into the center. The signal was undecodeable, but we were able to trace it back to Sirius Beta 3.
This then motivated us to start building a high tech life hunting rover. We kept in mind the Organization of life : Cells, tissues, organs, organ systems, organisms. We also thought about the 7 Characteristics of Living organisms: All living things have cells, all living things respond to change, all living things have DNA, all living things use energy, all living things grow and develop, and all living things need water. This helped us design a rover that was capable of searching for these things. The rover is equipped with sensors that will help it find these things.
So we set off this project into outer space. We landed on Sirius Beta 3 March 25,2008 at approx. 3:00 P.M. Pacific. The rover landed on top of a small hill . We unfolded the rover and began searching for life.
