The Scientific Status of the Cesa
Lepidoptera Museum of the Cesa comprises the collections of the following countries (alphabetically): Macedonia, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Ethiopia, Germany, Indonesia, Iran, Kazachstan, Kyrgyzistan, Pakistan, Philippines, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, Turkmenistan.
There are also numerous exchanged materials from Afghanistan, Bulgaria, France, Georgia, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Lebanon, Peru, Poland, Russia, Spain, Taiwan, U.S.A. in the collections of the Cesa.
The scientific value of the Cesa can be evaluated by comparing with the other National Museums of Natural History or collections in the World States as follows.
Turkey:
There is still no Natural History Museum in Turkey (neither official, nor private). The value of the Cesa in Turkey.Middle East Countries:
If some states have Natural History Museums, they have only the collections obtained from their own state territories. Among them, the most remarkable collections are found in Israel today.Balkan Countries:
All the Balkan states have Natural History Museums. They have usually the collections obtained from their own state territories. If some of them have some exotic collections like Romania, they should be restricted to a few foreign states.It can be said that the international position due to its scientific value of the Cesa with its natural collections of foreign nations is just behind the following seventeen top states in the world (alphabetically); Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Netherland, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, U.S.A., United Kingdom.
