Max

Max At Windowsill

Max again, at windowsill
evening, ever patient, still
catching moonbeams, swipe a paw
piercing silence, sharpen claw

humming feline lullabies
to the cobalt fading skies
quick nuzzle, nose on glass
watching, creeping shadows pass

satisfaction swells, tiger chest
knows contentment, this is best
inside cat, outside world
warm windowsill, tail soft-curled

(Note:  The above poem was written about Max prior to his recent surgery - he had to have his tail amputated (poor little guy), due to an outside accident - hence good ole Max is now a 100% Inside Cat!)  Don't worry....he's doing fine and adapting well!  More Max poems to be added soon!

Feline Fancy (in Triolet)

My cat begged for fresh cream today
Plain milk just wouldn't do
Content to see the carton put away,
My cat begged for fresh cream today
I hate to see him have his way
But I gave in, it's true
My cat begged for fresh cream today
Plain milk just wouldn't do!
