CONFESSIONS OF  A DOMINATRIX
Two Women Share The Ins And Outs of S&M

Whip, spank, and get paid?  It happens.

Lady Danae

I've always been sort of an alpha female, meaning a dominant female,
which is very strange, very unusual. Most women aren't.  and those of us
who are alpha females are often socialized out of it.  But the way I was
brought up sort of emphasized that tendency rather than squashing it.  I
ended up sort of being in charge of my family, through circumstances that
weren't my fault, and having a lot of responsibility at an early age.
And so it enhanced that tendency in me.

"And when I was 17, I met a very adventurous boyfriend, he was my age,
and we both felt comfortable playing around with these things, and I got
into it.  And of course I didn't know in my mid-20s that there were lots
of people who liked to do this, and that there was a name of all these
things.  I just enjoyed playing with it.

"I later wanted to be a nurse-midwife, and became an R.N. when I was 28.
It wasn't until last year that I decided to write full time, and being a
dominatrix is what lets me make as much money as I need to, while still
having the time and energy to write as much as I want to.

"My clientele is fairly well weeded out because I'm very expensive.  I
get all kinds as far as inquires go. It runs from lowlife redneck guys
who think I going to pop over to their Motel 6 room for $20, to the guys
who actually do end up becoming clients of mine, who are almost always
well-educated and wealthy.

"I've gotten sports stars, celebrities, lawyers, company owners, and lots
of professors, oddly enough.  In fact, one of them had been my physics
professor.  I told him I recognized him, and he thought that was fine.  I
think he got an extra little kick out of it, as a matter of fact.

"I'll take women in a couple or alone, it really doesn't matter - but the
thing is, women are a lot less accustomed to paying for any kind of
erotica at all, much less a strictly erotic relationship, you know?  In
one sense, sessions with women aren't really that different at all.  You
know, 99 percent of this is in the mind.

"The only thing that's typical about a session is that I'm in charge.
And the way I set it up is that I interview people first, so I can get
into their head. I know where my boundaries are; and what I do is look at
where their boundaries are, and I look at where those two sets of
boundaries make a little subset in the middle, and that's the area we can
play in.  And then if we do go off and play, I make sure that everything
stays within that area.
