Black History Month Observance in DS

Mr. Eddie Porter

1.  I want to extend my sincere appreciation for your participation in
Black History Month Observance in the Directorate of Distribution.  The
success of our program was due to you and the others who willing gave of
their talents and time to insure this month will be remembered for years
to come.

2.  reading your poems reveal their depth and warmth; they are also
thought provoking and uncover the workings of your soul.  Your recitation
of your work was extremely well done.  You captured the audience and held
them spellbound for a full thirty minutes.  Poetry reading is almost a
lost art among the working class, but you changed that.  After your
performance, each person walked away with a new understanding and a new
feeling of life.

3.  I wish you continued success in your writing and urge you to continue
giving readings of your poetry. What better way to end this letter with a
poem of yours called, "Dream."

I had a dream not long ago
of you and I in a garden of hearts
The air was scented with your perfume
at once my senses swelled with delight!
Beams of love trickled from above
caressing me with the melody of your name
I took you in my arms and held you tight
as I treasured the most precious gift of all your love
