'POETRY' ABOUT LIFE
Young Author, Eddie J. Porter, Appeals To Wide Cross-Section

Author Eddie J. Porter says his style of poetry is different from the
main stream. "My work allows a person to feel all their senses while
reading."

IN search of the perfect Christmas gift for that's special
someone?  Well, author Eddie J. Porter might have the
perfect answer.  "Poetry."

Not just any piece of poetic artistry, but a book written by the
aspiring author entitled, "Satin Treasures."

The 64-page book, consisting of 88 titles or poems, is available
at Tower Book stores.  the Chicago native, whose poetry consists
mostly of love themes, received his ideas from "observing everyday life
and people."

"Essentially, I want the book to appeal to a wide cross section of
readers," stated Porter in his Cirtus Heights home.

"Adolescents are able to read this book to their parents because it is
so simplistic," the author added.

Porter says his style of poetry is different from the main stream.
"My work allows a person to feel all their senses while reading,: the
author explained.

"My poems flow instead of being perplexing," he said. The local author
cited one example, his poem entitled, "Special Lady."

It reads:  "Special lady, I love you. The record plays again,  and
again without end. I love you through the good times, oh let's count the
bad times, too.  Never the less sweet is the music that's played of you."

The local writer said one woman at a bazaar, held this weekend, read
one of his poem's and told hid "I like this work.  It is simple and down
to earth, and I am going to buy a copy."

Porter, excited about his new book, gave advice to other aspiring,
young authors.  "Don't give up the dream, " he asserted. "And don't let
anyone discourage you, just go for it," related the local karate instructor.

The book "Satin Treasures," is published by Trice books.  According to
Porter, "It's going to be a best seller."
