Angel Come Home

Back to Main

Have you ever looked into your soul and then allowed others to look into it also?  Well, that is what Mr. Porter has done in his third book of poems.

Eddie J. Porter has reached another level of soul searching in ANGEL COME HOME.  His use of symbols and words is outstanding; his knowledge of combining the two will make the reader smile and be happy, to think, to become sad and perhaps cry, and reflect on life.  The ability to do this is what all poets want to achieve.

Mr. Porter's poem, "The Smile", points out the power of a simple smile. A smile can transcend all language, can make a sad person happy, and people more friendly.  Try smiling when you say, "Hi" to all you meet and you will get a smile in return.  Mr. Porter wrote that, " ... romance is the twinkle in love.  A smile is the twinkle in life."

Through his poetry Mr. Porter is wrestling with the meaning of life.  And as we know, life is a mystery which cannot be solved overnight or perhaps never.  What Mr. Porter has attempted to do is give his life meaning through his poems.
