biography here is a story about a man called E and his band called the eels

there once was a man named E who was on a mission to please people's ears. And over the years that man, E, has done just that.

E as a solo artist recorded two albums, "A Man Called E", and "Broken Toy Shop". After the release of his last solo album, E met Butch and Tommy, and named themselves...THE eels!!

with E on guitar and keys, Butch wailing on the drums, and Tommy on bass, they recorded their first album as the eels, Beautiful Freak. Beautiful Freak had such singles as "novacaine for the soul", "susan's house", and "rags to rags".

without even knowing, the eels were getting more publicity in Europe then they were in the states and CANADA, so that is where they stayed for quite some time, and hey, they also won a Brit Award. but at the same time, E was faced with one of the hardest challanges life has to offer...death.

E facing the death of his sister must have been a hard thing to do, but he did something which would probably be concidered crazy, or what some people may say was sick. and with new bassist, Adam, he made Electro-Shock Blues.

Electro-Shock Blues is a full length cd with 16 tracks that came right out of E's emotion, and reality. to make a cd about the death of someone close to you may seem a bit "extreme", but i think it was smart. "they" say that music helps anything. i think it helped E get through the death of his sister by writing all of these songs, it would make him realize how close he was to his sister, and how great she was.

after the release of Electro-Shock Blues, E was hit yet again with another tragedy. the death of his mother. no man or woman should have to go through what E has gone through, but yet he keeps going, fighting the black cloud hovering above his head. he took a break from touring Electro-Shock Blues, but can you blame him? i guess someone who has gone through something like this would need some time off to think and to be to himself.

but again, the eels are in the studio working on yet another album. what this album will be like, no one knows...except for E, Butch, and Adam i guess.
