If you have traveled thousands of miles to get to London, what's another 275 miles to visit Paris? Or, if you've seen France's
capital already, what about visiting someplace a bit off the typical tourist track? That was the premise of our trip to Dijon
and Burgundy.
From London, the Eurostar rail service reaches Paris in about 2 hours 15 minutes. France's TGV high speed rail network connects
throughout the country— our destination of Dijon is under 6 hours from London by train.
Why Dijon? Before our trip, we knew about the city's gastronomic reputation and that it sits in one of the world's premier
wine regions. What we underestimated was just how charming the medium-sized city of Dijon could be as a sightseeing base...sort
of a mini-Paris, without the congestion and crowds of American tourists.

A perfect apartment in the heart of old Dijon
Located steps from the old ducal palace, My Home In Dijon is a beautiful one bedroom apartment operated by the ever-helpful Coco Jacquin.
The building is quiet, the apartment is well-furnished, and the location could not be more perfect for exploring Dijon.
