In 1986 the Northern Pacific Depot, located along Interstate 90 in Wallace, Idaho, was moved 200 feet to the location seen in the photo to the right.  The move was necessary because  I-90 (seen in the background of the photo to the right) was relocated over the town. Previous to the highway re-route, the highway ended at the edge of town and dumped onto city streets - and ran through the middle of town, there was a stop light too!
There was no option for routing of the highway through town because every building in town is on the National Register of Historic Places so the highway was built over the town.  The new highway removed the last stop light from Interstate 90.
