Restrooms are only at the bottom of the
trail.

Water fountains are only at the bottom of
the trail,
so bring some water.

Stay on marked trails. The grass on
the side of the
trail grows very slow, and is easily damaged.

The trail starts inside the crater.
The trails on the
outer slopes are unsafe.

Do not discard trash on trail. Don't
spoil the view
for others.

There are no fees charged. One of
the few free
things in Hawaii.

Tennis shoes work fine. Hike is
moderate ability
and 1.5 miles roundtrip.

hours. Early morning and late afternoon, the sun
is the coolest.

City bus available in Waikiki to drop you
off at
Diamond Head. Bus #22 or #58 on Kuhio Avenue.
Ask driver to drop you off at Diamond Head.

Flashlight is recommended for the
staircase through
the tunnel.
