The benefits that are achieved by joining a sorority is immeasurable. For instance, there are some who have found life long friendships by becoming a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. These relationships have resulted in great networking possibilities, role models, mentors, and good old fashion "girlfriends". This spirit and sisterhood is not something that takes a lifetime to achieve. For example, if there were a situation where a new member needed some help because she was in a foreign place all she would have to do is find out or ask "Do you know where the Sigma Gamma Rhos are? Point me in that direction". Once found, that visiting soror knows she has a sister that she can count on for numerous things- be it shelter, food, friendship, or maybe even some good sound advice. This open door policy is generally something that is taught or learned while in a specific chapter and is transferred on to other sorors everywhere.

The love that we have felt by being a part of Delta Rho Chapter is amazing. The bond that you develop by getting to know other females at this level can be unbreakable. Sure, we argue and disagree but don't real sisters or siblings for that matter?  And like most families we always seem to find a way to resolve the problem(s) at hand. To be able to reach this kind of closeness that most of us only reach within our own families is indeed quite special.  We truly can say "...That We Are Family...I Got All My Sisters With Me.."

One who is not sluggish or derogatory but ambitious, zealous and industrious

One who is willing sometimes to place the needs of others above those of her own
One who reaches out and is not afraid to touch...
One who is willing to work for the community in order to better others as well as herself
One who is not easily discouraged and when the chips are down her spirits remain high
One who  knows that real sisterhood is an everyday thing
And it should  be spread not only throughout the Sorority
But throughout the community and the world
It takes a special kind of woman to be a Sigma
