Another British "Greatest" Poll

More than 100,000 people voted for "The 100 Greatest Number One Singles" since 1950 for a program on Britain's Channel 4 hosted by gay presenter Graham Norton. John Lennon's Imagine took the top spot by just two votes over Bohemian Rhapsody from Queen (with the late gay Freddie Mercury). Other leaders of interest included sometimes-says-she's-a-lesbian Sinead O'Connor's Nothing Compares 2 U at #11, sometimes-says-he's-gay Robbie Williams' Millennium at #12, glam rock pioneer David Bowie's Space Oddity at #27, gay George Michael's Careless Whisper at #32, No Matter What from Boyzone (with gay singer Stephen Gately) at #47, YMCA from the Village People (who mostly were not gay but played gay on stage) at #63, West End Girls from the Pet Shop Boys (with open gay Neil Tenant) at #70, and Do You Really Want to Hurt Me? from Culture Club (with very gay Boy George) at #83.
