"I don't believe it's true that one should fear you too much to dare to communicate with you," she wrote. "I'm the little noisy Irish woman. I've been trying to get your attention for some years. I'm sorry I did it in hurtful ways when I was younger. "But I have to have my voice heard." The Catholic Church has refused to recognise her bizarre ordination to Mother Bernadette Marie O'Connor. A spokesman for the church in Ireland said rebel Bishop Michael Cox didn't have the power to make her a priest. "The Catholic Church wouldn't recognise an ordination of that kind. The Church doesn't ordain women," he said. In her letter to the Pope, the troubled singer asks him to give women a chance to play a greater role in the Church. She says: "The Mothers of the world are best equipped to help. Please your holiness empower us to do so."
