Hudson Invader Engines

Invadereng.jpg (19207 bytes)

I am the joint owner with a friend, Steve, of six Invader Marine Engines

They were built during World War II by Hudson to support the War effort.  They were used mostly in Landing Craft and Air-Sea Rescue, and as a replacement engine for PT boats.

They displace 998 cubic inches and have 6 cylinders, an overhead cam,  two updraft Zenith carbs, and twin ignition with 12 spark plugs.  They weigh about 3000 pounds each with the gearbox and deliver 265 horsepower, with 780 foot pounds of torque at 2000 rpm.  Both left and right hand rotation models were built for twin engine installation.
